If you are looking for a warm day to relax and have a great time in the park with the squadron or the family, then the annual Patriotic Picnic will be here shortly.

The picnic will be held at Miller Park Aug. 9 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., across from the base theater.

There will be free food available that includes a catered lunch of BBQ chicken, pulled pork and hot dogs along with live music featuring Sammy Eubanks and there will be prizes awarded for certain events up to 1,000 dollars.

"There will also be inflatable rides and activities to take part in, including kiddie pools and double lane water slides for the children," said Sueann Herkel, 92nd Force Support Squadron marketing director. "More activities include face painting, airbrush tattoos, a bungee trampoline and a rock wall."

Everyone on base, including dependents and civilians, are invited to attend this event. For safety purposes, pets will not be allowed at the picnic.

"As in years past, we look forward to seeing 3,000 to 4,000 of Fairchild's Finest at this year's Patriotic Picnic," said Herkel.

Following the picnic, still at Miller Park, the Air Mobility Command Icon, a Karaoke style singing competition, will be held for ages 18 and older.

"We invite everyone to spend the entire day with us at Miller Park," Herkel said. "It's our way of providing first class fun for Fairchild families."

This year the picnic has been financially provided for Team Fairchild by community partners including Northern Quest Resort and Casino/Kalispel Tribe, Global Credit Union, Eagle Ridge communities, USAA, First Command Financial Service, Home Depot, Dr. Grummons Orthodontics, Avista, Exit Realty, Village Center Cinemas, Wells Fargo, Wild Walls and Zak Designs.
