Duty title: Isochronal Inspector/Floor-Dock Controller

What do you do on a daily basis at Fairchild Air Force Base? I'm currently the day shift dock controller. I manage the Isochronal Inspections for 36 KC-135 Stratotankers assigned while coordinating with 9 back shops within a 10 day process.

What do you enjoy about your job? I enjoy the hands-on experience that I get every day. Making sure these aircraft get properly maintained and flyable. I've enjoyed all the people I've gotten to know and work with over the years.

Why did you choose to serve in the military? My primary reason I joined the military was because of the pride and sense of tradition I felt knowing what I'd be doing for our country. I have several family members and friends that have served and currently serve. The fact that I could get school done for free didn't hurt either.

What are your greatest accomplishments? The day my son was born and joining and attaining 10 years in the military and being where I'm at today.

What goals you want to achieve or meet while at Fairchild Air Force Base? I want to complete my career here and finish school. I also want to climb the ranks in a steady but efficient manner. Eventually, be a flight chief and production superintendent

What is your favorite quote? "Everything happens for a reason"

Who is your favorite mentor and what did you learn from him/her? My favorite mentor is my Oba-Chan (grandmother in Japanese). She was very strong and persevered when she was brought from Japan and then my grandfather left her to basically fend for herself. She didn't know English well and took care of 4 children on her own. Always very patient, kind and never complained. She's everything I aim to be.

If you could spend one hour with any person, who would it be and why? My Oba-chan!
