The Barnes Center for Enlisted Education has released updates for the Course 14 version 6, and has introduced Course 15 version 1. The courses are Professional Military Education correspondence courses designed with the goal of providing the foundational concepts to senior NCOs that meet the Air Force's prescribed institutional core competencies.

Additionally, Course 14 V6 meets the educational prerequisites for the redesigned Senior NCO Academy-Advanced Leadership Education course.

"Our enlisted force is undoubtedly the best in the world, due in large part to our Air Force efforts in training and education," said Senior Master Sgt. Eryn McElroy, 92nd Force Support Squadron career assistance advisor. "These courses provide building blocks for the lessons that will be taught at the SNCOA."

There are also multiple changes to the course. Technical sergeants can no longer enroll in course 14 unless they have a line number for master sergeant. Students can also self enroll through the Air University website. Previously, course 14 was opened to tech. sergeants and master sergeants, now the course is new and improved and course 15 has been created specifically for tech. sergeants.

"We have gone through so many changes in the Air Force over the past few years, and I'm excited to see that our professional military education is continuing to evolve with us," McElroy said. "As I look at the topics in these courses, I'm pleased to see that the courses cover practical situations that SNCOs deal with every day."

Course 14 V6 and 15 V1 are now available to the general public.
