Keeping our bodies in peak physical condition is part of Air Force life. Being fit-to-fight in order to support the mission is crucial, thus fueling freedom here at Fairchild.

The fitness center operated by the 92nd Force Support Squadron recently received the Fitness On Request machine. This machine offers a variety of group workouts, guided by an instructor on its display.

The purpose is to guide group workouts and ensure everyone has access to a proper workout.

Located in the aerobic room on the second floor, Fitness On Request has seven different categories with everything from strength training to yoga. These workouts vary in levels of intensity. The system uses a touch screen interface that projects the video onto the wall once a workout is selected.

"It's great for group physical training," said Staff Sgt. Austin Coleman, 92nd FSS intramural sports coach and special events planner. "This new system will be able to lead group workouts for squadrons who don't have a physical training leader."

Following the on screen instructions, registering for the system takes about a minute and provides the option to login with a fingerprint.

"People on the night shift will now have the same features that were only available during the day at night," said 2nd Lt. Matthew Richardson, 92nd FSS fitness center officer in charge.

As this program self updates and doesn't require anyone to man it, Fitness On Request is available 24/7. This works well with our 24-hour access to the gym, said Coleman.

Users are able to reserve the machine for a specific time up to one day in advance, on a first come first serve basis, added Richardson. Although just because a group is using the machine doesn't mean others can't join in, if there is room.

"This machine produces a stable, reliable workout method," said Richardson.
