Fairchild announced as Installation Excellence Award selectee Published Nov. 4, 2013 92nd Air Refueling Wing Public Affairs FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash -- Fairchild Air Force Base was one of two Air Mobility Command bases recently selected for AMC's 2014 Commander-In-Chief's Installation Excellence Award. Due to this accomplishment, AMC will award the base $100,000 to support Airmen and their families to make the installation even better. Gen. Paul Selva, AMC commander, saluted Team Fairchild, passing on his congratulations. "The imaginative efforts of the men and women of these installations produced efficiencies and standards of performance that significantly improved base-level services, facilities and quality of life," said Selva. Travis is the primary selectee and Fairchild is the runner up. Col. Brian Newberry, 92nd Air Refueling Wing commander, thanked Team Fairchild for all their efforts toward sustained excellence as an installation. "I am proud of your daily commitment to each other and our defense of freedom," said Newberry to the wing. "[The year] 2013 was proclaimed a year of bold innovation last December even before sequester was part of our vocabulary. Even amidst this turmoil, you all excelled with flying colors. Stay excellent, stay imaginative 92nd ARW...we are on a roll. Each one of you contributed to this impressive team award win."
