Name: Staff Sgt. Dustin Babock

Unit of assignment: 92nd Force Support Squadron

Nominee's duty title: Shift Supervisor

Where did you grow up?  Yuba City, Calif.

What do you do on a daily basis at Fairchild?
I supervise the morning shift, which consists of eight Airmen and four civilian chefs.  My shift is responsible for feeding the base populace both breakfast and lunch.  I also oversee the flight kitchen, which is responsible for all flight/ground support meals.

What do you enjoy about your job?
I would have to say that the most enjoyable part of my job is mentoring/training the Airmen who work with me.  I have learned a lot throughout the years and it is nice to be able to show them the proper way of doing things.

Why did you choose to serve in the military?
When I was a little boy, I remember asking my dad why he was in the military.  The reason he gave me was, if I don't defend my family's freedom...then who will?  That has always stayed in the back of my mind, which played a big factor in me joining the military.

Family: I have been married for four years to my beautiful wife, Tiffany.  The only other immediate family I have is my mom, Vickie Davis, and my brother, Jessie Hrabak.

Time in military: Seven years.

What is your greatest accomplishment?
I would have to say my greatest non-military accomplishment is when I won 1st place in a mixed martial arts tournament in Las Vegas when I was 17.  It was a tournament with 300 people from throughout the U.S.

What goals do you want to achieve or meet while at Fairchild?
I would really like to finish up my bachelor's degree in Anti-Terrorism and Homeland Security.

What are your hobbies?  I love to spend time with my wife, whether it is going to a movie, playing video games or going to the gym to work out.

What is your best habit?  I would have to say my best habit is always being early to everything.

What is your favorite quote?  "If you think you can do a thing or think you can't do a thing, you're right." -Henry Ford

What is your favorite movie?  "The Pest"

Who is your favorite mentor and what did you learn from him/her?  My favorite mentor would have to be retired Senior Master Sgt. Med Recibe.  He taught me to always be myself and to stay positive no matter what the situation.

If you could spend one hour with any person, who would it be and why?  Chuck Norris.  He has always been one of my favorite actors ever since seeing him as a kid in the TV show "Walker, Texas Ranger."
