Fairchild Air Force Base to host Skyfest 2014 featuring the USAF Thunderbirds Published Feb. 5, 2014 92nd Air Refueling Wing Public Affairs FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. -- Fairchild Air Force Base is planning an open house and air show May 31-June1. This event will feature the Thunderbirds, the U.S. Air Force's premiere aerial demonstration team. This event is open to the public and admission is free. Open house events give the local and regional community the opportunity to view America's Airmen and our ability to fly, fight and win at our best. Open houses allow today's Airmen the opportunity to engage with the community, while inspiring the Airmen of tomorrow. Because of this important interaction, the Secretary of Defense authorized a limited number of open houses within a 45 percent reduced budget from pre-sequestration levels. . Skyfest 2014 will be the first air show held at FAFB since 2010. Last year, the open house was cancelled due to sequestration.
