The Airman & Family Readiness Center is facilitating an Exceptional Family Member Program Spring Residential Camp overnight event April 9 to 11 at YMCA Camp Reed, located about an hour drive from Spokane, Wash.

"We are offering a free, fun, caring and safe camp to enrich military children's lives," said Christopher Marble, A&FRC director. "Much springtime fun will continue with Reed's 99-year tradition of focusing on relationships and a culture that affirms the potential of each child."

The camp is open to eligible family members ages 5-21 years old. Parents or guardians must accompany campers. Flashlights and sleeping bags are required.

"Camp counselors, guardians and parents will be intentional in their efforts to value individuality; to support character building; to promote the importance of a good attitude and good choices and to support each child as they try something new and stretch beyond their perceived limitations," Marble said. "Through this process, our ultimate goal is that Fairchild families have the 'best time of their life.'"

Slots remain of the 20 originally available. Interested families can call Steve McMullen at the A&FRC at (509) 247-2246.
