210,000 visit Fairchild for SkyFest 2014, Thunderbirds

FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. -- More than 210,000 people attended SkyFest 2014 on Fairchild Air Force Base, Wash., May 31-June 1.

Team Fairchild opened its gates to more than 125,000 air show enthusiasts Saturday and more than 85,000 on Sunday.

"Inland Northwest, we salute you," said Col. Brian Newberry, 92nd Air Refueling Wing commander. "SkyFest 2014 was for you for your amazing support of us. We hope you enjoyed it! We told our story of American airpower excellence! What a high flying weekend!"

This year's air show was headlined by the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and the U.S. Army Parachute Team "The Golden Knights."

During the event, multiple static displays with current military aircraft along with more than 10 aerial performances including vintage military aircraft and civilian acts entertained the crowds at the first air show to be held at Fairchild since 2010.
