Team Fairchild launched seven KC-135R Stratotankers within minutes at the conclusion of a weeklong operational readiness exercise at Fairchild Air Force Base, Washington, Aug. 22.

The Wing Inspection Team-planned exercise allowed 92nd and 141st Air Refueling Wing Total Force Integration units to test and evaluate their capabilities to provide responsive aerial refueling and operational support for the full range of military missions worldwide.

"During this exercise, our main goal was to evaluate readiness, and to generate aircrew and aircraft," said Col. David Parlotz, 92nd ARW Inspector General. "We assessed our ability to defend those aircraft, support the force and execute the mission within minutes. It took a total Wing effort to make it happen."

Training exercises are planned and executed regularly to maintain mission readiness, to ensure the base's preparedness for various potential emergency scenarios, and to evaluate the base's ability to accomplish the mission.

"Fairchild's ability to provide timely aerial refueling support is critical to ensuring rapid global mobility," said Col. Brian McDaniel, 92nd Air Refueling Wing commander. "These exercises allow our Airmen to remain sharp and remain ready."
