Study skills class
This seminar is designed for military, civilians and dependents returning to college after a long absence. The primary focus is to introduce individuals to time management in order to balance the demands of school and working life. Other modules include memory, reading for comprehension and test-taking tips. In this course the student will assess their learning style, make a study calendar and establish goals. Classes are scheduled May 2, July 11, Aug. 8, and Sept. 12 at the education center from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Reservations are necessary. Southern Illinois University Workforce Education and Development
Southern Illinois University offers a unique program that allows up to 44-semester hours for past work experience and Air Force training to be applies toward a degree in Workforce Education and Development (also known as Human Resources Development.) This equates to nearly 1.5 years of college credit at no cost to the student-- a great savings because the average tuition cost for 1.5 years of college is approximately $8,640. The Bachelor of Science degree in Workforce Education and Development (also known as Human Resources Development) is a flexible degree that is applicable to many career fields. Southern Illinois University is fully accredited and is a Research-One institution. US News recently recognized this program as one of the top ten human resources development programs in the United States for the second-year in a row. Community Colleges of Spokane Classes now accepting registrations
Registration is now open for Spring II Term starting May 22 at the Fairchild Education Center. General Education and Computer Classes are offered. Register early to ensure class availability. Web registration for SFCC Summer/Fall classes will begin May 17 for current students. (Credit classes are offered by the Institute for Extended Learning and are accredited through Spokane Falls Community College and follow the curriculum adopted by and standards established by SFCC.) The Air Force is still offering 100% Tuition Assistance. To schedule an advising appointment with a counselor or ask questions, please call 533-8937.

Air University new Associate-Bachelor Cooperative Degree Program
The vision of Air Force leaders is to provide distance learning and bachelor's degree opportunities for Airmen. The AU-ABC initiative establishes partnerships between the Air Force and accredited civilian higher education institutions to offer baccalaureate degree opportunities via distance learning. AU-ABC degree programs will be linked to one or more Air Force relevant degree program currently offered by Community College of the Air Force. Proposals are currently being accepted from civilian institutions. The Air Force Virtual Education Center will serve as the gateway to these post-CCAF degree programs with the goal of beginning implementation for student enrollment in June 2007. Embry-Riddle Aeronautics Degree
A Bachelor's Degree in Professional Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle can provide career-enhancing knowledge and understanding. Up to 36 advanced standing credits in the aviation area of concentration may be awarded for work experience and training. The program can be completed in the classroom, on-line or through a combination of both. Call 244-3832 or go to www.erau.edu/spokane.

Park University
- Effective July 1, Park University will no longer accept standardized testing (DANTES/CLEP, etc.) for CS140, Intro to Computers. Students must either transfer this class in or take it with Park. Scores must be received by the Registrar's Office June 1 for acceptance. Call the Fairchild Campus Center at 244-2020 or e-mail fair@park.edu for information.

- Park students must successfully complete the Writing Competency Test and EN306 before registering for MG401, MG495, HR491 and MK491. All core requirements must be complete in order to enroll in MG495. These prerequisites will not be waived. Students wishing to enroll in other courses for which they do not have the required prerequisites must obtain a prerequisite waiver. Call 244-2020 for information.

- Students should sign up for the Writing Competency Test at least two terms prior to taking EN306/CJ441/CJ450. A passing WCT score is a prerequisite to register for EN306/CJ441/CJ450 and also a graduation requirement. The WCT results will not be available until at least three weeks after test date. Failure to comply with this requirement could delay graduation because the requirement will not be waived.
Please call the Fairchild Campus Center at 244-2020 to schedule an appointment to take the mandatory WCT.

- Park University's Criminal Justice Administration majors: As of July 1, CJ451 as senior writing project will no longer be offered. Students evaluated prior to July 1 who require CJ451 will now enroll in CJ441 if they are currently employed in a criminal justice field or CJ440 if not. CJ441 will not satisfy the EN306 writing requirement.
