Commute Trip Reduction Program Survey Published May 3, 2007 By 92nd Civil Engineer Squadron environmental flight FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. -- May 7-11, Team Fairchild will be conducting a short survey required by Washington State law about how active duty and civilian personnel get to work, their work schedules, and how far they travel. The results of the Commute Trip Reduction Program Employee survey will be the baseline against which the State will measure progress toward commute trip reduction goals established by law. Data gathered will also be used to evaluate and enhance Fairchild's current program. All responses will remain anonymous. Completing the survey will be critical both in obtaining an accurate baseline and meeting established goals. The survey will be offered online at www.ctrsurvey.org and will take just a few minutes to complete. When participants log into the system, they should enter their Fairchild e-mail address and select their squadron from the drop down menu on the second screen. Once the survey is completed, the e-mail address will be removed. Col. Roger Watkins, 92nd Air Refueling Wing vice commander, has requested a participation rate of at least 75 percent from each unit. Fairchild is one of over 100 employers in Spokane County impacted by the Commute Trip Reduction Law adopted by Washington State in 1991 and revised in 2006. The purpose of the law is to improve air quality, reduce traffic congestion, and minimize energy consumption. One of the requirements of the law is for employers to conduct this biennial survey to measure results of commute trip reduction efforts.
