Housing residents who do not own a flag can stop by the housing office. They currently have 30 U.S. flags available on a first-come, first-served basis. Pool re-opens The indoor pool re-opens June 15, and the outdoor pool, located across from the Shoppette and gas station, opens June 16. Open swim at the outdoor pool is 1 - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and noon - 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Indoor pool hours are as follows: Lap Swim Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 6 - 8 a.m. Monday, Wednesday: 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday: 5 - 6:30 p.m. Open Swim Monday, Wednesday: 5 - 6:30 p.m. Friday: 5 - 8 p.m. Water Aerobics Monday, Wednesday: 9 - 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Thursday: 6:30 - 8 p.m. Sunday: 10:30 a.m. - noon Swim Lessons Monday, Wednesday: 6:30 - 8 p.m. The indoor pool is closed Saturday, as the outdoor pool is open. Power interruptions Fairchild will undergo a routine maintenance power outage June 15. About half the base will lose power. For information, call 247-2302. Youth Center summer camp The Youth Center School Age Program has openings for its Summer Camp Program for youth ages 6 -12. The program provides safe, supervised activities planned around weekly themes, as well as swimming, roller skating, bowling and more. Prices are based on total family income and include meals and field trips. Call the Youth Center at 247-5601. Last week to register for summer sports This is the last week to register for T-Ball, Coach Pitch and Start Smart at the Youth Center for children ages 3-8. Cost is $35 for T-ball (ages 5-6) and Coach Pitch (ages 7-8) and $45.00 for Smart Start (ages 3-5). Smart Start is designed to prepare children for team sports by teaching skills and activities designed around that sport. Coaches and officials are always needed and appreciated. Volunteer Opportunity Clinkerdagger Restaurant in Spokane is refurbishing "Crosswalk," the downtown over-night shelter for homeless teenagers June 18-19 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Debi Moon, the restaurant manager, is looking for 12 volunteers to work each day. Medical Group farewell picnic The 92nd Medical Group hosts a farewell luncheon for Col. Patrick Murray, Lt. Col. Eleanor Foreman and Lt. Col. Darrell Landreaux at Miller Lake June 22 at 1 p.m. The meal, catered by Longhorn BBQ, is $10 per person. Family Fun Day The Airmen and family Readiness Center will host a Family Fun Day at the Fun Spot June 21, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Activities will include free bowling, roller skating and miniature golf, and pizza and drink while they last. The day is open to all military personnel and family members. For information, call 247-2246. Hoopfest Hoopfest XVIII is June 30 and July 1 in downtown Spokane. Paintball range open Paintball is back with a splat at the Sports Range, where the paintball season is now officially open. The speedball course is designed for all players/skill levels. Clear Lake Triathlon Fairchild employees and family members age 16 and older are eligible to participate in the Clear Lake Triathlon July 21. Participants can register individually ($5 entry fee) or as a group ($10 entry fee.) The triathlon will include a 15-mile bike ride, 5-kilometer run and 600-meter swim. Undergraduate Flying Training The next Undergraduate Flying Training selection board will convene at the Air Force Personnel Center Jan. 8. This selection board will review active duty applications for selection to pilot, CSO and air battle manager training. Those officers with a date of birth after April 1, 1978, and a TFCSD after April 1, 2003, who meet all other eligibility criteria, will be eligible to apply for UFT. Applicants must send the completed application postmarked by Nov. 36 to HQ AFPC/DPAOT3 550 C Street West Suite 31 Randolph AFB, TX 78150-4733 Applicants are responsible for advising commanders and supervisors providing AF Form 215 comments of the application deadline. Applications with incomplete or missing data may not be processed. All applicants need to compete the Air Force Officer Qualification Test.
