Neighbor Day in the park Published July 3, 2007 FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. -- Riverfront Park is the place to be July 4. What more can you ask for on a Wednesday afternoon than food, fun and entertainment? Maybe some fireworks? That's exactly what you'll find when you attend Clear Channel 4th of July Neighbor Day. Held in various meadows in the park from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., the free event will be held in conjunction with Independence Day. There will be activities and venues in the park for all ages. Activities for children will include a cow milking contest, inflatables, a racing zone with remote controlled cars, and a punt, pass and kick contest. There will be live music playing on the Lilac Bowl stage all day and beverage gardens for the adults. Also on the scene will be food, vendors, and arts and crafts. The following are the entertainment shows scheduled for Neighbor Day: At noon - Redwing (bluegrass fiddlers) 1 p.m. - Dixie Dandies (jazz) 2 p.m. - Loose Cannon (classic rock/blues) 3 p.m. - Jim Huntsman Band (country) 4 p.m. - Eddie Ramirez (acoustic/pop/rock) 5 p.m. - Java Kola (Jimi Hendrix tribute band) 6 p.m. - Carcinogens (blues) 7 p.m. - opening ceremonies and veteran's presentation 8:30 p.m. - Nobody Famous (Jimmy Buffet tribute band) As a Neighbor Day guest speaker, Col. Thomas Sharpy, 92nd Air Refueling Wing commander, will be addressing the audience at Lilac Bowl stage during the opening ceremonies. Also during the open ceremonies will be the singing of the Air Force song and the sister service's songs and a flyover of a KC-135 Stratotanker. The fireworks are scheduled to begin at 10 p.m.
