Many of us here at Fairchild are actively involved in our community. Some participate in on-base clubs like the Company Grade Officers Council, the 5/6 Club or a booster club for your squadron. Others participate in off-base organizations like the Big Brothers Big Sisters, 2nd Harvest or Habitat for Humanity. Whether you're involved in a charitable or volunteer organization on base or in town, chances are you can advertise your organization's events through the e-Connection.

The e-Connection is a great resource for announcements. It's e-mailed weekly to everyone at Fairchild as well as to more than 500 subsribers. Also, the news stories and announcements are posted as articles on the public Fairchild Web site. The criteria for submitting items for publication are simple. Your event and organization must benefit or be of interest to the local community (military or civilian), must be of a nature that is appropriate for advertising within the Air Force, and must not bring disrepute to the service (e.g. no hate groups).

These simple guides permit most non-profit, private organizations to place announcements in the e-Connection.

Maybe you haven't looked at the announcements section of the e-Connection. Scroll down. You might be surprised what opportunities are available in our community. Next time your booster club has a chili cook-off or the local soup kitchen needs volunteers, consider submitting an e-Connection request to the Public Affairs office. You'll find that it really pays off. To submit information to the e-Connection send an e-mail to e-Connection@fairchild.mil or call the Public Affairs office at 247-5707.
