As the hustle and bustle from the Operational Readiness Inspection dies down, the excitement is building for the results, which will be announced tomorrow by the inspectors.

Lots of hard work was to be had, both here at Fairchild and in Michigan, where hundreds of Team Fairchild members deployed to.

"I am proud of each and every one of you for your performance during the inspections," said Col. Robert Thomas, 92nd Air Refueling Wing commander. "These inspections were extremely tough and you met the challenge."

Colonel Thomas felt the inspection was tough but fair, and that mistakes were expected, but the true test was the reaction to any mistakes that might be made.

"It is all about validating our combat readiness and living up to our core value of excellence in all we do," he said. "It was a very tough inspection, but we wouldn't want it any other way."

For the Airmen who deployed to Michigan, the teamwork was what stood out.

"Overall the wing did very well at Alpena, Mich.," said Lt. Col. John Delapp, 92nd Operations Group executive, who also deployed for the inspection. "All the hard work in preparation really paid off. Everyone showed a great positive attitude and both the 92nd and 141st ARWs worked great together. The Inspector General gave us a very challenging deployment scenario at the wing, and we proved we could meet all challenges, continue to accomplish the mission and do it all in an excellent way."

Overall, regardless of the designation we receive tomorrow at the ORI outbrief, all the hard work and dedication it took to get through the inspection has not gone unnoticed.

"I wish I could tell you to relax and take a few weeks off--but I can't," Colonel Thomas said. "There are hundreds of our fellow Airmen deployed, along with Soldiers, Sailors, and Marines, that need our support in Iraq and Afghanistan and dozens of other locations, so we'll continue to work hard every day. I can say thank you for your service and sacrifice and for a super human ORI effort! Each and every one of you are heroes...it's the greatest honor of my career to be your Wing Commander."
