The Airman and Family Readiness Center hosts a free seminar, Charles Fay and Jim Fay of the Love and Logic Institute June 8, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the base theater.
"How to Raise Responsible Kids Without Raising Your Blood Pressure," will present solutions to some of the most common challenges facing parents. They will hear simple strategies for children of all ages and children with special needs, said Melissa Still, FAFB AFRC community readiness consultant.
"Dr. Fay and Mr. Fay talk about practical situations, such as getting your child to do their homework," said Mrs. Still. "The parents will leave the seminar and be able to put these methods to into practice at home."

The methodology of Love and Logic puts parents and teachers back in control, teaches children to be responsible, and prepares young people to live in the real world, with its many choices and consequences, according to the Love and Logic institute.

"The primary goal of the Love and Logic program is to give parents, educators, and others working with children practical strategies for reducing behavior problems, increasing motivation, and building assets which contribute to life-long responsibility and resiliency," according to a preliminary investigation by Charles Fay.

Medical Lake School District has already adopted these strategies, which makes it that much more beneficial for parents to adopt these easy to learn strategies, said Mrs. Still.
"This way their children will be raised with Love and Logic from across the board at home and at school," said Mrs. Still.
