Washington State University kicked off signups Monday for free admission and transportation to military members and their families to the last home football game of the 2011 season.

As part of their Military Appreciation Day, servicemembers can sign up for tickets to the WSU vs Utah game Nov. 19.

"This is just something we wanted to do to give back to the military and everything they do for our country," said WSU Director of Athletics Bill Moos. "This is the start of a great partnership with the people at Fairchild."

Mr. Moos and Head Football Coach Paul Wulff visited Fairchild Monday and saw firsthand how its aircrews train on the KC-135 Stratotanker simulator. In addition, Col. Tim Bush, 92nd Air Refueling Wing vice commander, explained the mission of Fairchild to a dozen officials from WSU.

The 92nd ARW Public Affairs office will maintain the sign-up list through the end of October for anyone who is interested in attending the game. In November, the WSU ticket manager will contact everyone who signed up for tickets to arrange their transportation from Fairchild to WSU and back. Anyone wishing to drive themselves is permitted to do so and will still receive their free tickets.

The offer is limited to military members, veterans and their immediate families. For more information, call (509) 247-5705.
