A recurring buzz word, "renovation", has circulated the Fairchild Dental Clinic halls for over a year. Many members wondered if this "renovation" would ever actually take place.

Well, the time has finally come. Lt Col Michael Crabtree, 92nd Dental Flight Commander explains, "The project will take place in two phases; each lasting approximately four months. Treatment capacity during the renovation will be reduced by 50 percent."

The Dental Flight will have extended hours during this project. The new hours took effect Tuesday, July 5th. During construction the first appointments of the day start at 6:45 a.m. and the last appointments begin at 4:30 p.m.

"The new hours have a three-prong effect: it minimizes outsourcing dental care; keeps our professional dental staff fully utilized; and more importantly, assures our mission readiness rates remain in the green." said Col. Chet Roshetko, 92nd Medical Group commander.

Shift workers in particular may find the early and late appointment times more convenient. But in order to help maintain Fairchild's awesome PIMR/Readiness rates, the Dental Flight will need all of Team Fairchild's cooperation in making these new appointment time in addition to all other appointments.

"Even with the extended hours, short notice cancellations and no-show appointments will directly harm our "readiness," said Staff Sgt. Jennifer Wilson, 92nd Dental Flight reception. "Please be willing to accommodate the new appointment times if one is offered, and make sure you and your wingman make each and every scheduled appointment."
