Lassiter Dent Airman Leadership School Commandant FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. -- The Fairchild Airman Leadership School is seeking a motivated staff or technical sergeant for Flight Instructor Duty starting in early 2013. The actual start date will be determined based on career field release and training dates. This position is a four-year controlled tour. The position is a fully-funded position and will not count against a unit's current manning level. Applicants will be required to be released from their primary Air Force Specialty Code while assigned to ALS. Applicants must be proven professionals of the highest caliber, dedicated to mentoring and enhancing future supervisors, epitomize core values and ultimately serve as a positive role model. Supervisory experience is preferred. An ALS instructor conducts Enlisted Professional Military Education instruction as outlined in Air Force directives. They prepare for instruction through group review and self-study; prepares facility, classroom and auditorium for instruction; maintains lesson plans, textbooks, test and measurement devices, student workbooks, handouts and lesson aids; uses instruction aids and training equipment in support of lesson plan objectives; supervises counsels, evaluates and advises students; receives training and trains instructors; coordinates and conducts panels, exercises and other ceremonial duties to enhance learning and assists with in-and out-processing and graduation tasks. Applicants need an associates degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution or be within in 12 months of completion. They need to have the ability to speak clearly and communicate well with others. They must have high standards of dress and appearance, a 5-skill level (7-skill level preferred). They must be a graduate of a certified in resident ALS course and have solid Enlisted Performance Reports. This is a four-year, controlled tour so all applicants must have or be willing to obtain 48 months retainability from the reporting date. Upon selection, they must attend a four-week EPME Instructor Course. Applicants must submit the following: · Generic Special Duty Application. This can be found in the special category assignment guide. · Targeted Military Resume (Refer to AFH 33-337), Tongue and Quill, dated Aug. 11 2004, pg 263). · Copies of last five performance reports. · AF IMT 422A or medical statement reflecting current physical profile--Minimum physical profile 222221. If applicant does not meet the minimum profile requirements, the servicing medical authority must determine if the condition is waiverable and annotate that on the form. The medical statement must include comment that the member has the ability to speak clearly. · Copy of most recent Air Force Physical Fitness Test results from the Air Force Portal. · Signed recommendation by the unit commander stating, "A review of the member's records conforms to Air Force policy on formal training courses which prohibits perpetrators of sexual harassment and unlawful discrimination from instructing. To my knowledge, the member is emotionally stable, morally responsible, financially sound and has not had a history of disciplinary action." · Two other Letters of Recommendation (one from current supervisor, one from another military member of their choosing). · Submit all application packages to Master Sgt.
