Members of Team Fairchild had the unique opportunity to tour the Experimental Aircraft Associations B-17 "Flying Fortress" Aluminum Overcast at Felts Field here June 1 to 3.

The B-17 is part of Fairchild Air Force Base History and was flown by the 92nd Bombardment Group in World War II. The group was stationed at the Spokane Army Air Field from 1947 to 1952.

The fully restored Aluminum Overcast started touring the United States in 1994. Since then tens of thousands have had the opportunity to tour this piece of aviation history and experience the role of bombardier, navigator and waist gunner as they walked around the aircraft.
