Pumpkin Patrol Provides protection Published Oct. 29, 2012 By Airman 1st Class Ryan Zeski 92nd Air Refueling Wing Public Affairs FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. -- Every year the 92nd Security Forces Squadron coordinates the annual Pumpkin Patrol to provide a safe environment during the hours of trick or treating. Trick-or-treating is Oct. 31, from 6-8 p.m. in the base housing areas. Fifty volunteers will augment security forces through the evening to ensure everyone's safety, said Staff Sgt. Brooke Williams, 92nd SFS police services. Each housing area will be divided into separate zones. To help prevent overcrowding each zone will contain at least two security forces members and four additional volunteers. Since the start of the Pumpkin Patrol more 20 years ago, there haven't been any reported incidents. Williams said. "The objective is to create a safe environment for the children," said Williams.
