Fairchild's SharePoint website will make it easy for common access card holders to register for self improvement classes as part of a Chief of Staff of the Air Force initiative.

The Leadership Pathways program, which launched on Monday here, is a formalized way to encourage service members and their families to participate in base programs and classes.

"Senior Air Force leadership expects base communities to utilize the various programs available in order to improve resiliency, facilitate stress reduction, and improve quality of life," said Col. Thomas Roshetko, 92nd Medical Group commander.

Registration for classes offered by various agencies are not mandatory through this site, but it offers one stop shopping for all available self-improvement possibilities.

"Mental resilience is based on experience. It can also be learned and be developed. Individuals become stronger people and stronger leaders," said Lt. Cmdr. Ken Simmet, 92nd MDG Mental Health Flight deputy commander.

"Leaders must learn to be more understanding of alternative thoughts and concepts and appreciate the differences that define us," said Simmet. "If we can learn to deal with life's challenges before they can affect us, then they are no longer challenges."

The new expectation is that leaders at all levels use these resources before they need them, it will help influence proactive decision making, said Simmet.

"Leadership learning never ends," said Roshetko. "It is an on-going process that all leaders need to pursue, whether from books, experience or other venues. We owe it to our Airmen."

The CSAF wants CAC holders to be recognized at the squadron level for taking 8-10 classes, group level for 15-17 classes and wing level for 18 or more classes.

This program also encourages dependents to participate through their sponsor, as there are benefits such as resume building and gaining knowledge and skills.

To get to the SharePoint, surf to https://eim.amc.af.mil/org/92arw/default.aspx, then click on "CAIB/IDS/CAF Materials," then "Leadership Pathways." Service members and families can also contact the supporting agencies directly to register for these programs.
