Duty title: NCO in charge fire truck maintenance

What do you do on a daily basis at Fairchild Air Force Base?
I maintain and support the Fairchild Air Force Base Fire Dept. vehicle and equipment fleet as well as the refueling vehicles and equipment fleet.

What do you enjoy about your job? Supervising, training and mentoring new Airmen provide me with the most satisfaction in my job. Nothing is more important than ensuring our future Airmen will be equipped with the knowledge, confidence and tools to be successful in their careers.

Why did you choose to serve in the military? I was not in an environment in my home town that would have provided me with an adequate future. I thought that the military would put me in the right direction.

What goals do you want to achieve or meet while at Fairchild Air Force Base? I'm PCSing to Osan, Korea very shortly so my short term goal was to get my follow on back to Fairchild, this goal was attained. My next goal when I come back here to Fairchild is to complete my bachelor's degree before I have to move again.

Who is your favorite mentor and what did you learn from him/her? I have had many mentors in my career thus far but hands down the mentors that I have had here at Fairchild surpass all of the rest, examples, Senior Master Sgt. Steven Riggs, Master Sgt. Kenneth Lagerquist, Ret. Master Sgt. Troy Hayden, Ret. Master Sgt. Scott Rauscher and Mr. John Seagreaves just to name a few. These mentors have affected me in various ways from work experience to life lessons to just being a friend who listens. I'm very grateful for their impact on my life and career.

If you could spend one hour with any person, who would it be and why? I would spend it with Oklahoma State wrestling coach and Olympic gold medalist John Smith.
