FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. -- The wife and teenage son of a Fairchild Airman were killed when their vehicle was struck by a train near Medical Lake, Washington, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Jan. 7, 2017.
Names are being withheld until 24 hours after the next of kin have been notified.
“We’re deeply saddened by the loss of these two members of our Fairchild family,” said Col. Ryan Samuelson, 92nd Air Refueling Wing commander. “The loss of any member of our Air Force family affects us all. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of those affected by this tragedy.”
The crash is currently under investigation by the Spokane County Sheriff and Burlington Northern.
