Holly Petraeus, the Assistant Director for the Office of Service member Affairs for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau visited Fairchild Air Force Base Feb. 24 to speak to military members and their families during Military Saves Week.

Military Saves Week is meant to help motivate service members and their families to improve their financial situations.

Petraeus stated that her mission is to see military personnel and their families get the financial education they need to make better informed consumer decisions.

"I hate to see a service member or veteran sign a terrible contract," Petraeus said. "I like them to be educated enough not to do that."

In light of Military Saves Week, Petraeus is on the road and visiting many places in the Pacific Northwest, Fairchild being her first stop.

Petraeus mission is to let service members know how they can better protect themselves and she is part of an organization that sets up financial protection for military members and their families, said Chris Marble, 92nd Force Support Squadron chief of the Airman and Family Readiness Center.

Petraeus said her office is about those who have worn the uniform of our country and their families.

"We want to do everything we can for them," said Petraeus.
