Duty title:
Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape / Personnel Recovery Analyst

Hometown and state:
College Station, Texas

What do you do on a daily basis at Fairchild AFB?
I am part of the Product Development Division of the Personnel Recovery Academy. My projects generally include drafting, editing and revising Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape Specialized Analysis Projects, Isolated Personnel Case Studies, Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape Debriefing Analysis Products.

What do you enjoy about your job?
It is really amazing knowing the products and courses built here assist in isolated personnel's knowledge survivability, ability to return to friendly forces with honor, and return in the best physical and mental condition possible.

Why did you choose to serve in the military?
I felt the military would give me a sense of purpose other than just serving myself. I chose the Army more for family tradition than anything since my father was enlisted and my step-mother was an officer in the Army.

Time in military:
Five years in April.

What is your greatest accomplishment?
Successfully deployed and completed our mission in Operation New Dawn as a part of the intel shop for the 2nd Battalion 8th Cavalry Regiment in 2011-2012.

Goals you want to achieve or meet while at Fairchild AFB?
I would like to make Staff Sergeant while I'm here and further my education in SERE to be even more assistance to the PR community in the future either as an active duty soldier or as a DOD civilian.

Your best habit:
My competitive nature is my best habit. I never like to lose and I use that to be the best I can in whatever it is I'm doing.

Favorite Quote:
I have two favorite quotes: "The surest way to corrupt a youth is to instruct him to hold in higher esteem those who think alike than those who think differently." - Friedrich Nietzsche
"Do what you can, with what you have, where you are." - Theodore Roosevelt

Who is your favorite mentor and what did you learn from him/her?
My parents will always be my favorite mentors. They each taught me the importance of a good work ethic, the necessity of attention to detail, and to strive for my goals instead of just wishing for them.

If you could spend one hour with any person, who would it be and why?
I would want to spend one hour with Thomas Jefferson. I would like to know what it was like effectively being the author and one of the first presidents to a new nation, what his views are on the nation as a whole today, and what we can do to improve it.
