FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. -- Members of Fairchild Air Force Base, along with the heads of local fire and police departments, took time to remember the thousands of lives lost as a result of the terrorist attacks against the United States 14 years ago.

The base honor guard presented a memorial wreath and wing officials spoke about the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, before the installation flag was lowered and folded for the night.
