Base leadership learns what it takes to be a firefighter Published Oct. 26, 2015 By Airman 1st Class Taylor Bourgeous 92nd Air Refueling Wing Public Affairs FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. -- Commanders and chiefs from various base units participated in a live fire demonstration Oct. 22 as part of fire prevention month, which is celebrated annually. Base leadership was invited to experience firsthand what a firefighter's mission is and the training their job entails. The demonstration was held on the flightline, where Fairchild firefighters showed leadership how to control fires with a control panel and extinguish flames using hand-held hoses and fire trucks.
