92nd Medical Group remains resilient through PCS season

Permanent Change of Station season is still upon us and has been since the beginning of summer. It's marked by changes of command, farewell gatherings and many retirement ceremonies. It can also cause frustration in the work place due to fluctuations in manning and shuffling of duties.

The 92nd Medical Group is no stranger to the stresses of PCS season and is ready to assure its patients that the services they provide will continue without a hitch.

"The 92nd MDG cares deeply about our patients," said Col. Robin Schultze, 92nd MDG commander. "We are working hard to get back to the normal pattern of doing business."

If appointments are not available at the clinic on base, we may offer you an appointment with a downtown provider, a benefit of living in a community like Spokane that has robust downtown medical care, Schultze said.

Another option that allows patients to take care of their needs is MiCare. The online confidential and secure messaging service allows patients to closely monitor their health issues through confidential online communication. It also can be used to request medication renewals, receive test and lab results and even communicate online with the healthcare team about non-urgent symptoms.

"We are committed to providing high quality care," Schultze said. "In order to provide that high quality care, we don't reduce the length of appointments, because that practice diminishes the quality of the time we spend with our patients."

A more even workload is forecasted as PCS season draws to a close. As always, the Medical Group prides itself on always meeting standards.
