New Unit Effectiveness Inspection process begins with survey Published Aug. 14, 2013 By 92nd Air Refueling Wing Public Affairs FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, WASH. -- Fairchild Air Force Base members will be asked to fill out a voluntary survey as the first step in the process for the base's Unit Effectiveness Inspection, scheduled to take place Feb. 5-14. The anonymous survey, available now through Dec. 5, provides the opportunity for Fairchild military members, spouses, government civilians and contractors to answer questions about current wing processes as a self-assessment to provide a baseline comprehension to the Air Mobility Command Inspector General, who will conduct the inspection in February. A separate survey will be filled out by members from the 92nd Air Refueling Wing and the 141st ARW. The UEI is a new process and Fairchild AFB will be the third AMC wing to be inspected under this process that transforms how wings are inspected. "We as a wing will go from being 'evaluated' for compliance and mission effectiveness to 'demonstrating' that we can measure our own compliance and mission effectiveness," said Col. Brian M. Newberry, 92nd ARW commander. "Our self-assessment process is vital to this effort and we will go from a periodic inspection process where the IG visits on occasion to a continuous process where we monitor our effectiveness daily." According to the AMC IG, the survey takes about 20 minutes to complete. The survey is completely anonymous and the results will not be released outside of inspector general channels. "We highly value the opinions of your spouses, and we have developed questions for them, so please feel free to forward this link to your home e-mail for their use," said Brig. Gen. Steven J. Arquiette, Headquarters AMC Inspector General. "Honest and candid answers will form the foundation for the success of the new Air Force Inspection System." Completing the survey in the next couple months will help get the inspection off on the right foot, said Newberry. "Max participation is encouraged from 92nd ARW members and families to demonstrate our focused engagement." The link to the survey for 92nd ARW members is https://www.research.net/s/92ARW2013.
