Bush when he signed the resolution into law on December 18, 2001, in honor of the individuals who lost their lives as a result of the terrorist attacks against the Unites States on Sept. 11, 2001. Team Fairchild will honor the thousands of lives lost by displaying the U.S. flag at half staff and conducting a retreat ceremony on Patriot Day. The retreat ceremony will be held at 4 p.m. in front of the white house and is open to all of Team Fairchild members. A coloring contest will also be held for the students at Michael Anderson Elementary School to promote Patriot Day awareness to youth on base. "We will remember and honor the men, women and children that lost their lives on 9/11," said Master Sgt. Jeffrey Wurn, 92nd Maintenance Squadron munitions flight chief and Patriot Day event coordinator.
