Fairchild's Open House planning committee has finalized its list of performers and static aircraft participating in SkyFest 2014 scheduled May 31 and June 1.

Returning to Fairchild for the first time since 2010, the event will be headlined by the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and U.S. Army Golden Knights parachute team. The airfield opens to visitors at 9 a.m. both days, with performances beginning at 11 a.m.

Civilian performers include Jacquie B in Extra 300, Smoke-n-Thunder Jet Car, Jelly Belly's Kent Pietsch, the Cascade Warbirds, Mustang High Flight, Dan Buchanan, Addison Pemberton's Boeing 40C and Stearman Flight.

The show also includes a P-51 and F-16 Heritage flight.

"We are coordinating with every base agency and numerous off base organizations to ensure every facet of the show has been well thought out," said Maj. Robert Aikman, SkyFest 2014 director. "The combination of hard work and outstanding community support has allowed us to plan an amazing show."

Static aircraft to be on display include:
· Fairchild's own KC-135 Stratotanker and UH-1N Iroquois
· B-1B Lancer from Ellsworth Air Force Base, S.D.
· T-38 Talon II and T-6A Texan II from Sheppard AFB, Texas

"While impressive, the four and half hours of flight time each day, only hints at the coordination involved in making Skyfest a success for the Inland Northwest," said Capt. Brian Gonzalez, SkyFest 2014 Air boss. "My sincerest appreciation goes to our performers and static crews for volunteering to make SkyFest a success."

"What I look forward to most is seeing a child looking up in awe," Aikman said. "It reminds why I love to fly and why all of this is worth it.
