"When the foundations of life threaten to shake apart and days of uncertainty lay ahead, remember that God is our only hope and refuge."

That was Chaplain, Rear Admiral Darold Bigger's (Ret.) central message to more than 230 attendees at this year's National Prayer Breakfast.

Since 1942 our national leaders have set aside specific times for prayer and spiritual reflection in order to gain a Divine perspective on their responsibility to this nation's citizens and secure God's continued blessings.

On Feb. 1, base leadership joined in this tradition as the 92nd Air Refueling Wing Chapel hosted the 2007 National Prayer Breakfast. During this year's program, "A Prayer for the Nation", our spiritual heritage was highlighted through Scripture readings, times of prayer for the nation and military, leaders and deployed service members.

Before Chaplain Bigger spoke to those attending, the audience was serenaded with the melodies of The Oaks Classical Christian Academy's high school acapella choir ensemble.

"It is a great honor to be here and support our military in this way," stated the choir director Mr. Kent Young.

This year's National Prayer Breakfast truly encouraged people of faith to seek the blessings of God and remember in prayer our leaders, our brothers and sisters in arms, the families that stand behind them, and those nations who yearn and strive for freedom, liberty and justice.

In times like this - when the nation is at war, when leaders must make tough decisions, and families make costly sacrifices - events like this bring us into the presence of God that we may know He is with us today, and will be with us tomorrow whatever may come.
