The office will be open Tuesday - Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, call 247-5359. Fairchild Officer's Spouse's Club scholarships The Fairchild Officer's Spouse's Club has Scholarship Applications available for graduating seniors and dependent spouses (regardless of rank) for the 2007-2008 school year. The Fairchild Officers' Spouse's Club will offer scholarships for seniors graduating from the greater Spokane area high schools who are dependents of a U.S. servicemember residing or stationed in the local area who is: active duty, on a remote tour or legally retired or deceased. Spouse scholarship applicants must reside in the Spokane area and must be the non-military dependent spouse of a U.S. servicemember, residing or stationed in the local area, who is: active duty, on a remote tour or legally retired or deceased and has not previously received an FOSC Spouse Award. Applications may be picked up at the base Thrift Shop or Airman and Family Readiness Center. Applicants can request to have an application sent by mail by sending an e-mail to foscscholarship@hotmail.com. Submission deadline is March 15. Refuse bulk item pick-up Bulk item pick-up will be Wednesday for housing units in the Fort Wright Village, officer Capehart and senior officer housing. For housing units in Galena Station, NCO Capehart and the main base and Survival Dorms, bulk pick-up will be Feb. 28. For residents who would like to donate items to Goodwill, put items out on the curbside clearly marked "Goodwill" and they will be picked up. For more information, call 924-9400. Volunteers for Anderson Elementary carnival The Michael Anderson Elementary school Parents Teachers Organization on base is looking for volunteers to help with the school's carnival April 21. Volunteers will head committees, build sets, decorate and work a variety jobs. A carnival meeting will be held at the base library Thursday at 6 p.m. Volunteers do not have to have a child attending Michael Anderson. For more information contact any PTO member, or call Tech. Michael Anderson Elementary to host book fair in March Michael Anderson Elementary School will host a book fair March 5-9, daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Families, teachers, and the community are invited to attend the fair, which will feature a special theme: Book Fair Beach, Ride the Reading Wave. The fair will be held at Michael Anderson Elementary school, which is located at 400 W. Fairchild Highway on base. There will be some special activities during the fair including: a build-a-book event March 6 from 5 to 7 p.m. and a family night with story read-alouds, special activities, refreshments, door prizes, and pictures with Clifford the Big Red Dog March 8 from 5 to 7 p.m. Attendees can help the school build classroom libraries by purchasing books for teachers through the Classroom Wish List and One for Books activities. The book fair will offer specially priced books and educational products, including new releases, award-winning titles, children's classics, interactive software, adult books, and current bestsellers from more than 150 publishers.
