Shine like a diamond Published Feb. 15, 2007 By Master Sgt. Darin Evans 66th Training Squadron first sergeant FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. -- Contrary to popular belief, keeping a uniform sharp isn't expensive and here are a few tips to prove it. First tip is to use heel and sole dressing not only on the sides but also on the top surface stitching of the sole. This is important as it helps boots to look good from above, which is the angle from which people view them. Another inexpensive tip is to avoid using the dry cleaners by washing and drying the Battle Dress Uniforms at home. After they have been laundered, use a refillable pump aerosol sprayer to liberally coat them with liquid starch and iron once they have dried. Remember, shining like a diamond doesn't have to cost a lot of money, all it takes is a little daily effort.
