Briefly Published March 15, 2007 FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. -- Book grant essay contest The Fairchild 56 Club is sponsoring an essay contest with a prize of a $100 book grant. The essay must be written in Times New Roman, 12-point font, double spaced, and one inch margins on all sides. The essay should be a maximum length of one to 1 1/2 pages and the topic will be 'Customs and Courtesies.' The contest is open to E-1 through E-6 enlisted members at Fairchild. The deadline is March 30, and the winners will be announced April 19. Essays will be evaluated based upon grammar, content, and how well it is written. Submit essays to Tech. Sgt. Sponsors will need to provide some information about the visitor to be sponsored. The information is sent to Pass & ID where the visitor and/or vehicle pass for the visitor will be printed. However, if the base is in Force Protection Condition Bravo or higher, the sponsor must go to Pass & ID to sponsor the visitor on the base. New hours at the A&FRC Family Services at the Airman & Family Readiness Center has new operating hours. The Loan Closet and Airman's Attic are now open 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. The Airman's Attic is open to Airmen in the grade of E-5 and below, and their dependents. Thursday is All Ranks Day at the Airman's Attic, so all Airmen and their dependents are welcome. Little League signup at BX West Plains Little League will be holding early registration Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Base Exchange. Boys and girls ages 5-14 are eligible to play. Cost is $30 for youth 5-8, $50 for youth 9-12 and $90 for youth 13-14. League includes baseball and softball teams.
