Education Briefs Published June 7, 2007 FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. -- Nursing Education and Commissioning The Air Force is accepting applications from qualified enlisted members for a new enlisted commissioning program. The new annual Nurse Enlisted Commissioning Program will give enlisted members the opportunity to complete a full-time Bachelor of Science degree in nursing at an accredited university while on active duty. The nurse corps hopes to select 50 students for the upcoming fall semester. The NECP selection board is scheduled to convene at the Air Force Personnel Center at Randolph Air Force Base, Texas, in July. Applications must be received no later than June 25. Courses in aviation and aerospace can be completed either in a traditional classroom setting or over the internet. Embry-Riddle's Spokane Center begins registration for the Fall 07 term July 16; classes start Aug. 6. Undergraduate and graduate classes will be offered. For information call 244-3832. Spokane Falls Community College Registration is now open for current students for the summer quarter at Spokane Falls Community College. Student can register on base for SFCC classes. Fairchild offers Eng 101, Hist 101 and Hum 224 on base starting June 25th. To schedule an advising appointment with a counselor or for information, call 533-8937. Web registration is available for current students. Park University - Fairchild Campus Center offers the Writing Competency Test (WCT) June 12 and 17. Students should sign up at least two terms prior to taking EN306, CJ441 or CJ450. A passing WCT score is a prerequisite to register for theses courses, and is a graduation requirement. The WCT results will not be available until at least three weeks after test date. Failure to comply with this requirement could delay graduation because the requirement will not be waived. Call the Fairchild Campus Center at 244-2020 to schedule an appointment to take the WCT. - Effective July 1, Park University will no longer accept standardized testing (DANTES/CLEP, etc.) for CS140, Intro to Computers. Students must transfer this class in or take it with Park. The registrar's office must received scores by June 30 for acceptance.
