His efforts garnered him the honor of Company Grade Officer of the Quarter for the Director of Staff from October - December 2006. In early 2007, Captain Underwood arranged for specialized training of resource advisors and budget analysts to create the command-standard "FM Tools" which provides all commanders and resource advisors access to their unit's financial data. The real-time access to data speeds up decision support for commanders to best utilize scarce financial resources. In May 2007, he was a Distinguished Graduate of the Financial Management Staff Officer's Course as the top student in his class of 13 members. Captain Underwood continues to impress with his involvement in the Wing's financial decisions. His footprints are clearly planted across 92nd Air Refueling Wing activities.
