Property claims
Team Fairchild lost a valuable member of its force. Staff Sgt. Joshua Farnsworth, 92nd Security Forces Squadron explosives detector dog handler, passed away July 3.
In order to resolve any property matters, anyone with a claim for or against the estate may contact Capt. Gordon Swain, Summary Court Officer at 247-4899.

Free movie
The Airman and Family Readiness Center is sponsoring a children's free movie matinee July 14, 2 - 4 p.m., at the base theater. Military children and their parents can enjoy the matinee, Bridge to Terabithia, with popcorn, drink and candy. The first 400 people will be admitted.

Air Force looking for family members of deceased Airmen
Air Force officials are seeking families of Americans buried in Libya. Officials recently returned from the country with the remains of 72 deceased Americans, 70 infants and two adults. They believe the Americans are family members of Airmen once stationed at Wheelus Air Base, Tripoli, Libya.
Officials are now trying to locate family members to see if they would like the remains returned to them. If you know someone who has family who may have buried at Wheelus, call the Air Force Mortuary Office at (800) 531-5803.

Food drive volunteer opportunity
Second Harvest Inland Northwest is conducting a food drive July 13 in partnership with a local grocery store and news station. Second Harvest needs 105 volunteers to hand out fliers, accept donations and load food into trucks. Three shifts are available: 8 a.m. to noon, noon to 4 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m., at seven different Yoke's Fresh Markets in Airway Heights, Spokane, Spokane Valley and Mead.

336th Training Support Squadron change of command
Command of the 336th TRSS will change hands from Lt. Col. Gregory Coykendall to Lt. Col. Waldemar Barnes July 23 at 10:30 a.m. The change-of-command ceremony will take place outside the 336th Training Group headquarters building.

Palace Chase briefing
There will be an informational briefing open to all ranks on the Palace Chase program on Thursday, July 12 in the MPF conference room. (building 2245, Room 227A). The briefing will include information about the Palace Chase program, an early release program which allows active duty personnel to transfer to the Air Force Reserve before their established date of separation, and general information about the benefits of the Air Force Reserve. Anyone interested in either Palace Chase, or the Air Force Reserve is encouraged to attend. The Palace Chase program is still running a one year for one year incentive for those who submit an application before Sep. 30. This applies to officer and enlisted members.

Test Center Inspector needed
It is an annual requirement for the Base Education Testing Office to be inspected by an objective inspector official. The volunteer needs to be either a civilian, GS-11 or higher, or a commissioned officer, O-1 or higher. Professional Development Guide
The new Professional Development Guide is now available for ranks E-4 and above. Personnel may stop by building 2245, Room 216A to obtain a copy of the guide on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Children's Summer Reading Program Event
A free summer reading program event for children will be held July 11 at the library from 10 - 11 a.m. Parents and children will have the opportunity to decorate a canvas book bag to take home. All supplies will be provided free while supplies last. Contact the base library for details at 247-5556.

Flightline restricted area realignment in effect
The flightline restricted area realignment is now in effect. Primary entry is through Flightline Vehicle Gate FV-9 located between the Snow Barn and the 92nd Logistics Readiness Squadron.
As a reminder, when aircraft are present in temporary restricted areas and for the permanent restricted area, individuals need a restricted area badge with the open area 4, be under escort, or have a home station restricted area badge with an authenticated entry authority list. All vehicles and individuals will enter through the designated entry control points unless a known emergency, Klaxon, aircraft taxiing, or pre-approved clearance is granted.
Unit security managers will have maps indicating the realignment. Questions can be directed to the Staff Sgt. William Brown, 92nd Security Forces Squadron, at 247-5998.

Attention...Sharp, proud Airman!

ALS looking for instructors
Fairchild's Airman Leadership School flight chief is accepting applications for two staff sergeant instructor positions. For information on how to apply, refer to the Air Force Personnel Center SPECAT guide. For information on the positions, contact Master Sgt. Youth Center summer camp
The Youth Center School Age Program has openings for its Summer Camp Program for youth ages 6 -12. The program provides safe, supervised activities planned around weekly themes, as well as swimming, roller skating, bowling and more. Prices are based on total family income and include meals and field trips. Call the Youth Center at 247-5601.

Clear Lake Triathlon
Fairchild employees and family members age 16 and older are eligible to participate in the Clear Lake Triathlon July 21. Participants can register individually ($5 entry fee) or as a group ($10 entry fee.) The triathlon will include a 15-mile bike ride, 5-kilometer run and 600-meter swim. Sign up at the Fitness Center or call 247-2791 for information.

The Fairchild Office of Special Investigations would like to remind Fairchild personnel and family members to remain vigilant, notice things that are out of place and report any suspicious activities to OSI, 247-2591, or the law enforcement desk, 247-5555.
Keep an eye out for the following behaviours: surveillance, elicitation, security tests, acquiring supplies, suspicious or out-of-place persons, dry-run attempts and deploying assets.

Undergraduate Flying Training
The next Undergraduate Flying Training selection board will convene at the Air Force Personnel Center Jan. 8. This selection board will review active duty applications for selection to pilot, CSO and air battle manager training. Those officers with a date of birth after April 1, 1978, and a TFCSD after April 1, 2003, who meet all other eligibility criteria, will be eligible to apply for UFT. Applicants must send the completed application postmarked by Nov. 26 to:

All applicants need to complete the Air Force Officer Qualification Test. In addition, pilot applicants must complete the Test of Basic Aviation Skills.
