Fairchild briefs Published July 23, 2007 FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. -- Former Air Force Chief of Staff to visit Fairchild Former CSAF, Gen. Ronald Fogleman, is visting Fairchild as part of the base's commemoration of the 60th Anniversary of the Air Force. The general will leave the base July 25. First Time Homebuyers workshop The Airman and Family Readiness Center will conduct a First Time Homebuyers workshop July 25, 10 a.m. - noon. The workshop will cover advantages and disadvantages of financing, credit scoring, down payments and closing costs, and the home-buying process. Space is limited to the first 40 people who register. Call 247-2246 to register or for more information. SNCO induction banquet A senior NCO induction banquet will be held Aug. 23 at Club Fairchild, 6 p.m. social and 6:30 p.m. start. Meal choices are Whiskey sirloin strip steak or Roman chicken with pasta. The meal is $24 for club members and $26 for non-members. Dress is semi-formal or mess dress for military, and civilian equivalent for non-military. RSVP to your first sergeant by Aug. 15. Seattle Seahawks tickets Tickets and Travel is offering a ticket package for a Seattle Seahawks versus Cincinnati Bengals game Sept. 23. Twenty tickets are left and must be purchased by July 27. Smooth Move workshop The Airman and Family Readiness Center is offering a Smooth Move workshop July 26, 1 - 3 p.m. The class helps military personnel and families prepare for upcoming moves. Various base organizations attend the workshop, including the Traffic Management Office, Tri-Care, Family Advocacy, housing, military travel pay and the Discovery Center. National Night Out The National Night Out will be held Aug. 7, and annually on the first Tuesday of August. National Night Out is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate local anti-crime support and participation, strengthen neighborhood and police-community relations, and send a message to criminals. Retirement ceremony in honor of Master Sgt. Allen Perry Major Gina Humble, 92nd Services Squadron commander, requests the pleasure of your company at a retirement ceremony in honor of Master Sgt. Allen Perry July 25 at 3 p.m. at the 92nd SVS warehouse. Flightline restricted area realignment in effect The flightline restricted area realignment is now in effect. Primary entry is through Flightline Vehicle Gate FV-9 located between the Snow Barn and the 92nd Logistics Readiness Squadron. As a reminder, when aircraft are present in temporary restricted areas and for the permanent restricted area, individuals need a restricted area badge with the open area 4, be under escort, or have a home station restricted area badge with an authenticated entry authority list. All vehicles and individuals will enter through the designated entry control points unless a known emergency, Klaxon, aircraft taxiing, or pre-approved clearance is granted. Unit security managers will have maps indicating the realignment. Questions can be directed to the Staff Sgt. William Brown, 92nd Security Forces Squadron, at 247-5998. ALS looking for instructors Fairchild's Airman Leadership School flight chief is accepting applications for two staff sergeant instructor positions. Eagle Eyes The Fairchild Office of Special Investigations would like to remind Fairchild personnel and family members to remain vigilant, notice things that are out of place and report any suspicious activities to OSI, 247-2591, or the law enforcement desk, 247-5555. Keep an eye out for the following behaviors: surveillance, elicitation, security tests, acquiring supplies, suspicious or out-of-place persons, dry-run attempts and deploying assets. Undergraduate Flying Training The next Undergraduate Flying Training selection board will convene at the Air Force Personnel Center Jan. 8. This selection board will review active duty applications for selection to pilot, CSO and air battle manager training. Those officers with a date of birth after April 1, 1978, and a TFCSD after April 1, 2003, who meet all other eligibility criteria, will be eligible to apply for UFT. Applicants must send the completed application postmarked by Nov. 26 to: HQ AFPC/DPAOT3 550 C Street West Suite 31 Randolph AFB, TX 78150-4733 Applicants are responsible for advising commanders and supervisors providing AF Form 215 comments of the application deadline.
