Fairchild came in at third place in the Air Mobility Command MatchUP game, with participation rates at 105 percent, not far behind Pope and Grand Forks Air Force Bases. Fairchild will receive $5,000 for a quality of life project and is one of only three bases in AMC to reach their goal. Fairchild showed its competitive spirit by having 3,868 registered participants (619 more than in 2006) playing 72,929 game pieces (15,809 more than in 2006).

As far as the squadron race is concerned, the $2,000 Holiday Party at the Club goes to the 92nd Medical Group. Their MatchUP point of contact, Master Sgt. Tammy Frazier, brought them to 100-percent participation with MatchUP. Twenty eight percent of the group's members are Club members.

The large squadrons that reached 100-percent participation finished in the following order: first place went to the 92nd Medical Group; second place went to the 92nd Logistics Readiness Squadron, running less than three percent behind with Club members at almost 26 percent; third place went to the 92nd Communications Squadron, with Club membership at more than 20 percent; and fourth place went to the 93rd Air Refueling Squadron, with Club membership at more than 18 percent.

The $1,000 Holiday Party at the Club will go to the 92nd Contracting Squadron. Under the direction of their MatchUP point of contact, Tech. Sgt. Jeremy Swistak, they reached 100-percent participation from their squadron for MatchUP and had an astounding Club membership percentage of almost 70 percent.

The small squadrons finished in the following order: first place went to the 92nd Communications Squadron, second place went to the 509th Weapons Squadron, third place went to the 92nd Comptroller Squadron, and fourth place went to the 92nd Maintenance Operations Squadron.

A member of Team Fairchild, Staff Sgt. Phillip Boal, 92nd Mission Support Squadron, won the third place AMC grand prize consisting of a Carnival Cruise for two and $2,000 cash.

When told of his prize he said, "Are you telling me that I'm one of three in AMC that won a Carnival Cruise? I can't believe it!"

He has not yet decided on where he is going, but he said that the money will be spent on his wife.

Yvonne Byars was the $500 winner. Mrs. Byars entered MatchUP on June 12 and played 22 game pieces.

"I'm going to spend it in services facilities," Mrs. Byers told Col. Thomas Sharpy, 92nd Air Refueling Wing commander.

Fairchild had five randomly drawn $100 winners: Senior Master Sgt. Matthew Williams, 92nd CS, who played 73 game pieces; Sally Beem, 92nd Civil Engineer Squadron, who played 63 game pieces; Airman 1st Class Anthony Peters, 92nd Civil Engineer Squadron, who played 10 game pieces; Amy Dunster, who played two game pieces; and Barry Stuart, 92nd Medical Group, who played 12 game pieces.
