Important scrap information

The Defense Reutilization and Marketing Office has recently changed scrap metal procedures. Pacific Steel, the base contractor that picks up scrap metal on base, can no longer accept direct deliveries of scrap downtown. You will be turned away. If you have large items or a load that needs to be turned in as scrap, you will need to contact Chad Helms at the DRMO at 247-2350 to make arrangements for delivery of a roll-off or to schedule a time to meet at Pacific.

This will not affect the second and the fourth Wednesday of the month turn-ins of routine scrap metal. The hours for the regular turn-ins are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

You must bring a copy of an approved Scrap 1348 form with you at the time of delivery to provide the scrap contractor. The form must be filled out and e-mailed to chadyne.helms@dla.mil. It will be approved and returned to you. For information on how to obtain this form, contact Ms. Helms.

Also, there is to be no dumping at the DRMO warehouse area outside the days and hours posted. You are responsible for garbage and trash (non-metal) items.

For Bulk Item Refuse, contact the 92nd Civil Engineer Squadron at 247-5562.
