The following is a list of upcoming Fairchild events and other pertinent 92nd Air Refueling Wing information. Education briefs are located at the bottom of the page.

Dec. 21: Traffic rerouting effective
Effective Dec. 21, traffic on Gate 23 Road, between Rambo and Sports Range Road, will be rerouted to the new Eaker Ave. extension effective. Vehicles traveling between the commercial vehicle gate, Survival School and main base will be redirected onto the newly constructed Eaker Ave. The traffic revision was required for the construction of the New Armed Force Reserve Center. This will be a permanent change in the roads driving from Rambo Gate and Survival Training. Gate 23 road will be removed. Jan. 17: Tops in Blue
Tops in Blue, the Air Force's expeditionary entertainment unit, is scheduled to perform at the Northern Quest Casino in Airway Heights, Wash., Jan. 17 at 7 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public. Tops in Blue is an all active-duty special unit comprised of 35 talented vocalists, musicians and dancers.

NCO Retraining Program, Phase II
Airmen identified as required to retrain must submit a retraining request by Dec. 17 or separate from the Air Force under Phase II of the 2008 Non-Commissioned Officer Retraining Program. After meeting the Dec. 17 deadline, Phase II eligible personnel must next choose an Air Force specialty code from a list of available AFSCs and submit a completed retraining application by Jan. 31. Phase II will end when retraining quotas are met, but not later than March 31. The members affected were already notified in Phase I. A list of frequently asked questions will be posted to www.ask.afpc.randolph.af.mil/. Contact your Commander's Support Staff for a complete list of details.

Dec. 19: Pre-school Christmas party
There will be a Pre-School Christmas part at the base Library Dec. 19 from 6 to 7 p.m. There will be a free craft making, stories, treats and a special guest appearance. Older siblings are welcome. Call 247-5556 for more information.

Dec. 20: Texas Hold 'Em at Club Fairchild
There will be a Texas Hold 'Em tournament at Club Fairchild Dec. 20 at 6 p.m. The cost for members is $6 and the cost for non-members is $12. First, second and third place winners will receive gift cards. Call 244-3622 for more information.

Dec. 21: FunSpot Friday Night Frenzy
The FunSpot will host a Friday Night Frenzy Dec. 21 at 5 p.m. The cost is $5 and includes bowling, skating, batting cages, miniature golf and pool tables. Children four years old and younger get in free. Call 247-2422 for more information.

Dec. 24, 31: Commissary holiday hours
The commissary will be open Dec. 24 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Dec. 31 from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Hydration Station
The Hydration Station, located at the base Fitness Center offers a wide variety of smoothies, juices and nutrition bars. Hours of operation are from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m.; noon to 1 p.m.; and 4 to 6 p.m. Call 247-2791 for more information.

Base access for foreign nationals
All foreign nationals must go through the foreign disclosure system prior to gaining access to a military installation. The process requires a sponsor for the guest. Also, foreign nationals must contact the foreign disclosure officer and fill out the required documentation which is sent to the Air Force Office of Special Investigations detachment and the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service. A background check will be done and the wing commander will approve or disapprove the request. This process takes no less than two weeks. Please plan accordingly for hosting future guests at the base. For more information contact the foreign disclosure officer, Bo Smith, at 247-2127.

In case of inclement weather
Reminders, advisements and warnings are being spread throughout the region with winter weather on its way. In the case of inclement weather this winter, call 247-5100 for base information regarding closures and manning issues.

Scholarship for Military Children
The Scholarships for Military Children awards hundreds of scholarships to qualified seniors planning to enroll in a four-year program of studies the following fall, or to college students already enrolled in a four-year program. At least one $1,500 scholarship is awarded at every commissary location with a qualified applicant. Additional information may be found at http://www.militaryscholar.org or www.commissaries.com. Applications must be returned to a commissary by close of business Feb. 20, 2008.

APF Funding
Wing, group and squadron official functions held at the club may be eligible for APF support. Contact the 92nd Air Refueling Wing protocol office at 247-2127 to see if your unit qualifies.
