Volunteer Opportunity Published Jan. 10, 2008 FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. -- Mobius Kids Museum The Mobius Kids Museum is looking for five volunteers to help unload and arrange exhibits. Big Brothers Big Sisters Michael Anderson Elementary School is looking for Big Brothers and Big Sisters, men and women who are free to spend one hour per week during lunch with a child at the school. They would have lunch together and be with them at recess. Consistency is critical for children as they become very attached to their big brother or sister. The school understands there are times when a big brother or sister may be gone out of town or other setbacks, but will work around this. Applications are available at the school. Volunteers will be screened by Big Brothers, Big Sisters and an interview would be scheduled. For information call Cheryl Stitt at 565-3604. Youth Center The Youth Center is looking for volunteer basketball game referees. Training is provided. Call Ryan Frost at 247-9622 for more information. Yokes Winter Food Drive Ninety volunteers are needed for the Yokes Winter Food Drive to benefit Second Harvest on Feb. 29. The food drive will take place at six Yokes locations in Spokane including Yokes at Argonne -Montgomery, Indian Trail, North Foothills, Airway, North Market - Mead and East Sprague-Veradale. Three shifts are available from 8 a.m. to noon, noon to 4 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Approximately five volunteers are needed per shift, per site. A Harvest site supervisor will be at each location to give volunteers their assigned tasks. Volunteers are encouraged to register online. To volunteer, please visit the website at 2-harvest.org and click on the Volunteer Now icon. You will then be asked to register on the Volunteer Hub site. After doing so, you will be able to access all information on volunteer activities at Second Harvest and register online. You will receive an email reminder.
