Military Saves Week kicks off Published Feb. 19, 2008 FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. -- Military Saves Week kicks off Feb. 24, and Fairchild's Airman and Family Readiness Center is hosting a full week of events designed to help Airmen save their way to financial freedom. To reserve a seat in any of the following seminars, call the Airman and Family Readiness Center at 247-2246. Civilians are welcome. Feb. 25: Military Saves Week kick-off will be held at the base theater at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Col. Roger Watkins, 92nd Air Refueling Wing acting commander, will speak along with Paula Gradwell, Thrift Savings Plan liaison specialist and guest speaker from Washington D.C. Feb. 26: On the Road to Riches seminar will be held 11 a.m. - noon at the A&FRC. Feb. 27: Credit Report 101 seminar will be held 11 a.m. - noon at the A&FRC. The class will cover budgeting, credit scores and reports. Feb. 27: Money Maker Workshop will be held 6 - 7 p.m. in the Airman's Lounge. Free food and prizes available for attendees. Feb. 28: A Home Buyer Workshop will be held 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the A&FRC. Mar. 1: The Military Saves Finale and Family Fun Day will be held 4 - 8 p.m. at the Fun Spot. Class attendees will receive free lunch, and $100 savings bonds and other giveaways will be awarded.
