Upcoming Events March 12 - March 19:

March 10: Preparing for Reunion
The Airman and Family Readiness Center will host a class titled "Preparing for Reunion" at the A&FRC from 6-7 p.m. Attend the class to learn real life strategies to help family members prepare for a smooth transition after reunion. The class includes information for maintaining open, ongoing communication, dealing with changes, reestablishing a routine, addressing physical and emotional health issues, providing adjustment time for the returning family members, and more. The class is open to all. Call 247-2246 for more information.

March 12: Ensuring a Successful Marriage
The Airman and Family Readiness Center will host a class titled "Ensuring a Successful Marriage" at the A&FRC from 6-8 p.m. Attend the class to learn the advantages of a legal commitment, the components of a successful marriage, parenting skills for married couples, the importance of a good communication and tactics for resolving conflicts. The class is open to all. Call 247-2246 for more information.

March 12: Sign up begins for baseball trip
March 12 is the first day to sign up for a baseball trip to Seattle April 12 when the Seattle Mariners will take on the L.A. Angels at Seattle Quest Field. The trip will include a round-trip transportation on a luxury bus from Fairchild to the game and a meal from Club Fairchild. All seats are lower-level seats. The cost is $110 per person. March 14: St. Patrick's Day Party
There will be a St. Patrick's Day Party March 14 sponsored by the Fairchild 5/6 Club and the Rising 4. All of Team Fairchild is invited to attend, dorm residents especially. Come dressed in green. There will be door prizes, green beer and Karaoke by Marj. Call 244-3622 for more information.

March 14: Boss & Buddy Steak Night at Club Fairchild
There will be a Boss and Buddy Steak Night at Club Fairchild beginning at 5 p.m. The cost for members is $10.95 and $13.95. The buddy will eat for half the price. Call 244-3622 for more information.



Education Briefs:

Force Development Education
Develop your leadership skills with Force Development Education courses offered free each month at the Base Education Center. All military and civilian personnel are invited to sign up and attend, though some courses are limited to certain ranks/grades. Reservations are necessary. Scholarships:

March 14: Deadline for OSC scholarship applications
Applications for the Officer's Spouses Club Scholarship Program for Graduating Seniors and Spouses are due by March 14. High school seniors must have a GPA of 3.2 or above on a 4.0 grading system and must be a legal dependent of a military sponsor assigned to active or reserve duty. Spouses must reside in Spokane area and must be non-military spouses of a U.S. servicemember residing or stationed in the local area who is active duty, on a remote tour, legally retired or deceased. 2008 Harry Kennedy Memorial Scholarship
The Greater Spokane Substance Abuse Council's is sponsoring the 2008 Harry Kennedy Memorial Scholarship for Spokane County high school seniors who plan to continue their education in support of drug free decisions by youth. The $1,500 award will be presented to a student who submits a winning essay that highlights why he or she has chosen to be drug free. One alternate will be awarded $250.
