Air Force Assistance Fund
Fairchild's Air Force Assistance Fund campaign will run through April 18. The base goal is $42,813. 92nd Air Refueling Wing group points of contact are:

April 4: Boss & Buddy Steak Night
Boss & Buddy Steak Night will take place at Club Fairchild April 4 at 5 p.m. Members eat for $10.95, non-members for $13.95, and buddies eat for half price. For information call 244-3622

April 7: Sport Bike Briefing
The 92nd Air Refueling Wing safety office is offering Sport Bike briefings at the Education Center April 7 and 9 at 1:30 p.m., and April 11 at 8 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. This briefing is required before active-duty members can ride their sports bikes, and encouraged for all others. No appointment is necessary; the briefings are held on a walk-in bases. For information call 247-2739 or 247-2141.

April 8: Bootcamp for New Dads
Bootcamp for New Dads will be held at the Chapel April 8, 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. 

April 9: Help Desk Window Relocation
The 92nd Communication Squadron's help desk window will move from the Military Personnel Flight to Bldg. 2040, Room 44, April 9. 

April 10: Voices of Men
A Voices of Men performance will take place April 10 at the Deel Community Center. The event is mandatory for all Airmen 25 years of age and younger. Times are 7 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.

April 10: Palace Chase Brief
A Palace Chase brief will be held at the Military Personnel Flight, Room 225B, April 10 at 1 p.m. 

April 11: Nashville Star competition
NBC is searching for aspiring country singers in the military community to compete to perform on its "Nashville Star," show this summer. The casting call will be April 11 on Norfolk Naval Station, Va., and is open to active-duty personnel, National Guard and reserve members, retirees, veterans, Defense Department employees and their family members. Defense contractors are eligible, but their family members are not. There is no fee to audition.

Up to 40 people will be selected at the auditions, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 11 at Norfolk Naval Station's Devary Hall Theatre, also known as Building C-9. Those who audition should be prepared to stay an extra day in case they are called back to take part in a videotaping for "Nashville Star" on a Navy ship April 12.

Ten service members who are being selected from 128 service members chosen at auditions on Navy bases worldwide in the last few weeks will also participate in the filming. Those 10 service members get free trips to Norfolk. The winner of "Nashville Star" will also perform at the 2008 Olympic Games in China.

Study Skills Class
This seminar is designed for those returning to school after a long absence. The primary focus is to introduce students to time-management skills. Other modules include memory, reading for comprehension and test-taking tips. Students will also assess their learning style, establish goals and make a study calendar. Classes are held Wednesdays, 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Call 247-2348 to register.

Park University
- Effective July 1, Park will no longer transfer in History classes as Humanities credits. Instead, History credits will be given as Social Science credits. Call 244-2020 for information.

- Park University offers a 15-credit hour scholarship for non-military spouses and dependents of active-duty personnel. If you have been a Park student for one year or less at the time of application, or will become a student in the 2008 - 2009 school year, with a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.0 or higher, you may be eligible. Application deadline is April 15. For more information call the Park University office at 244-2020.
