Air Force Assistance Fund ends April 18
Fairchild's Air Force Assistance Fund campaign will run through April 18. The base goal is $42,813. 92nd Air Refueling Wing group points of contact are:

Upcoming Events April 18-25:

April 18: Last day to sign up for the defensive driving class
A defensive driving class will be held in the 92nd Security Forces classroom April 23 from 8 a.m.-noon. The class is open to military and civilian personnel who would like to volunteer for the Sheriffs Community Oriented Policing Effort program. Benefits include discounts on insurance rates. Class reservations are required by April 18 to attend. For more information contact Michael Marro at 247-5988.

April 18: Parenting Fair
Club Fairchild is hosting a Parenting Fair April 18, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. For more information call Javonika McCree at 247-2246.

April 18: Free admittance to Gonzaga University's Patterson Field
Military members with proper identification and their families get in free tApril 18, at Gonzaga University's Patterson Field when the Bulldogs' baseball team takes on the University of Portland Pilots. The game starts at 6:30 p.m. Show ID at the gate for free admission. Patterson Field is located at the corner of Spokane Falls Blvd and Cincinnati St.

April 18-19: AFSA Annual Division Convention
The Hilton Garden Inn/Spokane Airport is the location of the Air Force Sergeants Association Annual Division Convention. The convention is a gathering of chapters throughout the division which includes Alaska, Oregon and Washington. Registration will be open on April 18 from noon-5 p.m. and on April 19 from 7:30-8:30 a.m. You may also register in advance by contacting the registration chairman, Senior Master Sgt. April 21: Bench-Off
The fitness center is hosting a Bench-Off April 21 from 1-3 p.m. The competition between units is to see which can perform the most repetitions by percentage of weight in a four minute time period. Call 247-3948 for more information.

April 23: Wing Quarterly Awards Ceremony
The Wing Quarterly Awards ceremony will be held at the base Theater on April 23, at 3 p.m. For more information call Tech. Sgt. Michele Glaspie at 247-5629.

April 23: Chiefs Recognition Ceremony
Fairchild's Chief's Group is hosting the Chiefs Recognition Ceremony April 23, 6 p.m., at Club Fairchild. The dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m. Dress is mess dress or semi-formal for military personnel and coat and tie apparel for civilian personnel.

April 25: FunSpot Friday Night Frenzy
The FunSpot is hosting Friday Night Frenzy April 25 from 4-10 p.m. Bowling, skating, miniature golf, pool tables & batting cages will be at your service for $5. Deployed spouses and their children free; children four and under free. Call 244-3622 for more information.

Study Skills Class
This seminar is designed for those returning to school after a long absence. The primary focus is to introduce students to time-management skills. Other modules include memory, reading for comprehension and test-taking tips. Students will also assess their learning style, establish goals and make a study calendar. Classes are held Wednesdays, 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Call 247-2348 to register.

Park University
- Effective July 1, Park will no longer transfer in History classes as Humanities credits. Instead, History credits will be given as Social Science credits. Call 244-2020 for information.

- Park University offers a 15-credit hour scholarship for non-military spouses and dependents of active-duty personnel. If you have been a Park student for one year or less at the time of application, or will become a student in the 2008 - 2009 school year, with a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.0 or higher, you may be eligible. Application deadline is April 15. For more information call the Park University office at 244-2020.

- Park University - Fairchild Campus Center will be offering the Writing Competency Test (WCT) on April 15th, 22nd and 29th; May 13th, 20th, and May 27th; and also on June 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 24th. Students should sign up at least two terms prior to taking EN306/CJ441/CJ450. A passing WCT score is a prerequisite to register for EN306/CJ441/CJ450 and a graduation requirement. The WCT results will not be available until at least three weeks after test date. Failure to comply with this requirement could delay graduation because the requirement will not be waived. Please call the Fairchild Campus Center at 244-2020 to schedule an appointment to take the mandatory WCT.

Southern Illinois University
Retiring from the military soon? A Bachelor of Science Degree will help you start a new career and validate the work experience you've accumulated while in the military.
Southern Illinois University offers an accelerated one-year format for completion of a major, as well as an alternating weekend class schedule designed for the working adult with one to two weekends per month. No associate degree is required to enter the program. Up to 44 semester hours may be granted for work experience and technical training (Equal to 14 plus college courses). Civilians are welcome, and financial assistance and VA benefits are available to qualified students. Classes begin May 3.
