FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. - --  Mobius Kids Children's Museum 
Mobius Kids Children's Museum needs assistance with removing and loading their traveling exhibit from the museum floor to a delivery truck. Volunteers will need to be able to do heavy lifting. Several volunteers are needed to help us with this project.

This opportunity is at Mobius Kids, 808 W. Main Ave. Downtown Spokane in the lower level of River Park Square from 6 a.m.-9 a.m. Contact Karen Hudson at Mobius Kids by May 1 by calling 624-5437, extension 305 or by email at khudson@mobiusspokane.org.

Baskets & Blooms at River Park Square
Volunteers are needed on May 10, at River Park Square 808 W. Main Ave. Main Level, from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. to help children pick out flowers, arrange them in a basket, and make a card for Mother's Day. Lilac Festival and the Armed Forces Torchlight parade
Parade organizers are looking for 56 volunteers for this year's Lilac Festival and the Armed Forces Torchlight parade. Seven officers and 49 Airmen are needed to work as Corner Cadre. As a Corner Cadre you will ensure spectators stay out of the parade route as well as provide a 'military face' to the community. Taking a Bite out of Hunger
Help Second Harvest fight hunger and feed hope by volunteering for the 2008 Taking a Bite out of Hunger May 21 at the Spokane Arena. This event features a live and silent auction, as well as vendors from area restaurants, wineries and breweries. With more than 800 guests in attendance, there are numerous volunteer tasks including set-up, auction support, restaurant/winery support, bussing tables, clean-up, breakdown, etc. There are a variety of two- to four-hour shifts running from 8 a.m. - 10 p.m. More than 100 volunteers are needed to make this event a great success.

Big Brothers, Big Sisters Bowl for Kid's Sake Event
The Company Grade Officers Council is in need of volunteers to be squadron points of contact for the Big Brothers, Big Sisters Bowl for Kid's Sake event May 30. This is the 10th year the event will be held at Fairchild and they are looking to improve upon their efforts from previous years. The role of the POC is to sign up team captains in your squadrons who then form teams and collect donations. All the money raised through this event stays in the local area and directly benefits kids on base and in Spokane. All those interested in volunteering can email Capt. Santa Breakfast Fundraising Event at the Davenport Hotel
Dec. 6, from 7:30-10:30 a.m. volunteers are needed to help children with science and craft activities, as well as assisting with check in and clean up. The even takes place at the Davenport Hotel. First Night-Convention Center and at Mobius Kids Children's Museum
Help children with a craft and science activity at the Convention Center Dec. 31 from 3-6 p.m. or, from 7-9 p.m. volunteers are requested to help keep the exhibit floor safe and in order so families can experience the museum at 808 W. Big Brothers, Big Sisters
Michael Anderson Elementary School is looking for Big Brothers, Big Sisters, men and women who are free to spend one hour per week during lunch with a child at the school. They would have lunch together and be with them at recess. Consistency is critical for children, as they become very attached to their big brother or sister. The school understands there are times when a Big Brother or Big Sister may be gone out of town or other setbacks, but will work around this.

Applications are available at the school. Volunteers will be screened by Big Brothers, Big Sisters and an interview scheduled. For information call Cheryl Stitt at 565-3604.

There are ongoing volunteer opportunities at the Mobius Kids Children's Museum.
Play Guide - Assist visitors with exploration of exhibits and galleries.
Handy Person - Assist with routine maintenance of new and existing exhibits.
Early Childhood Volunteer - Assist with activities with children 4 years and younger.
Camps and Classes - Assist or teach a camp, class or small group activities.
Special Event Volunteer - Assist with events, may include some set up and clean up.
Art Volunteer - Assist with art projects in our "Out of Hand" Art Studio.
